Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Comedy Returns to El Rio! is a popular monthly comedy show (every 3rd Thursday of the month) co-produced by Kung Pao Kosher Comedy's Lisa Geduldig and El Rio. The show, soon to celebrate its 9th year, takes place at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District and showcases an eclectic, multicultural mix of intelligent, progressive comedians from the Bay Area and beyond.
This months event takes place on Thursday, March 16 and features comedians: Mark Pitta, Bob McIntyre, Irene Tu, David Roth, and Lisa Geduldig.
Mark Pitta is a veteran comedian who has appeared on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, NBC, FOX...you name it. He's a returning performing in Las Vegas and the Holland America Cruise Line. This likable comedian will have you laughing at his observations on life, celebrity impressions and his knowledge of rock bands. www.MarkPitta.com
Bob McIntyre is a San Francisco based waiter, comic, and occasional actor who is currently binge watching his recently purchased 38-disc, 325-episode Mary Hartman Mary Hartman box set. He currently sees everything in shades of avocado green, mustard yellow and burnt orange with a waxy yellow buildup. He is single.
Irene Tu is a San Francisco-based stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. In 2016, she was named one of the Bay Areas 11 Best Stand Up Comedians by the SFist and one of 20 Women to Watch by KQED. She has been featured in numerous comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest, Limestone Comedy Festival, and the All Jane Comedy Festival. Irene hosts several popular shows in the Bay Area: Man Haters, Hysteria, The Mission Position, Laugh Function and Millennials Ruin Everything (they do). You can follow her @irene_tu. www.irenetu.com
David Roth is one half of the comedy/production team Destiny's Mom that has produced dozens of sold out shows all across the Bay Area. This past year, he performed stand-up at Outside Lands and SF Sketchfest and was prominently featured in The SF Weekly. David has written two Super Bowl commercials and collaborated with comedy legends like Bob Odenkirk, Larry Charles, and Jim Gaffigan. He also co-wrote a song with Sir Mix A Lot, who still refers to him as The guy that tried to ruin my career.
Lisa Geduldig is a local comic and comedy producer whos the creator, producer, and MC of a variety of comedy shows including Kung Pao Kosher Comedy (celebrating its 25th Anniversary this December!); Funny Girlz: A Smorgasbord of Women Comedians; The Color of Funny: A Multi-Cultural Comedy Show; and A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar: The Comedy of Religion. She moonlights as a bilingual (Spanish-English) publicist.
