Diane Cluck with Life Like Water

I am pleased to announce that Diane Cluck will be performing here in Asheville on March 5th! This will be an intimate setting at a house in the River Arts District. Opening for Diane, will be Life Like Water, a 3 piece folk/world band based out of Asheville.

We would love to kick off the evening with a potluck around 6pm, and start music around 7. Please BYOB and bring a dish to share if you'd like (labeled if possible). Tickets are $15, and we suggest buying them in advance, as they may sell out! Street parking is available, but try to carpool if you can.

Here's a little bit about the music...

Diane Cluck is a singer-songwriter of intuitive folk music. Her vocal style has been noted for its distinctly clipped, glottal beauty. She accompanies herself on various instruments including guitar, piano, harmonium, zither, toy accordion, and a copper pipe instrument she built by hand. She employs singing as a healing, textural experience in which her audience may wander, ponder, or simply be.

Life Like Water is an acoustic trio based out of the Asheville, North Carolina area. Their music is a fluid combination of sounds coming out of different traditions from all over the world. With elements of African/Indian/Celtic and American roots and blues, their music claims no specific genre but embraces the beauty of the traditional as well as sensibilities of the modern. Their emphasis on infectious melodies, layered vocals, penetrating lyrics and trance like repetition has the ability to keep the mind engaged and the body animated.
