Cabaret
"There was a Cabaret, and there was a Master of Ceremonies, and there was a city called Berlin in a country called Germany. It was the end of the world, and I was dancing with Sally Bowles - and we were both fast asleep..."
Join us for Cabaret, a musical about those beautiful, broken men and women who worked and lived the glittery nightlife of 1930s Berlin as the Nazis rose to political power - before Germany's point of no return.
Cabaret is the story of the Kit Kat Klub, a deliciously seedy nightclub in the heart of Berlin. It is the story of Cliff, an American writer who comes to Berlin to find something worth writing about. It is the story of Sally Bowles, a most talented young singer who makes her living performing for the pleasure of the Kit Kat Klub's clientele. It is the story of the landlady Fraulein Schneider and Schultz, her Jewish lover. It is the story of the Emcee, your gracious and dangerous host.
This 100% student production is brought to you by Purchase College students of the Theatre and Performance program, the Music Conservatory, and other majors.
Cabaret will be performed in the Dance Theater Lab at SUNY Purchase College in Purchase, NY. Cabaret will feature live band music performed by members of the Purchase College Music Performance Conservatory and other student musicians.
Performance days and times for Cabaret are: Thursday November 29th at 8:00 pm Friday November 30th at 8:00 pm Saturday December 1st at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm Sunday December 2nd at 2:00 pm
Tickets for students, faculty and staff are $5 (for non-students they are $7). Students, alumni, faculty, and staff should use their Purchase email addresses when reserving their tickets.
If you purchase a ticket for a showing and then decide to come a different day, simply email jesse.penber@purchase.edu and we'll switch your ticket to that day, no problem and no charge.
For those who wish to contribute a bit more (and have the best seats in the house), table seating is available for $10. Those attending with Table Seating tickets will be seated at cafe tables on the lip of the stage - where during the show the Emcee and his playful pack of Kit Kat Klub Boys and Girls will interact with you up-close-and-personal (very, very personal). Those attending with Table Seating tickets will also get a mocktail to enjoy during the show (menu to be announced).
All ticket sales will go to providing opportunities in musical theatre for students at Purchase College.
The length of the show is roughly 2 hours; there will be an intermission halfway through.

Question: |
Why does the drop down show two shows for SUNY Purchase Cabaret on Sat Dec 01 at 8PM? Seems like a mistake, no? |
Answer: |
Whoops, typo, that should have been our 2:00 matinee (and now it is, because it's been fixed). Thanks for the notification; Saturday December 1st, there is a 2:00 and an 8:00 showing of Cabaret. |
