Charity and the JAMband Family Values CD Release Concert & Celebration
Join us for an afternoon of singing, dancing, laughing, loving, breathing and BEing in celebration of community, families, and music.
We will rock out to songs from our newest CD, Family Values, plus the old JAMband favorites, ending with a set of never-before-performed lullabies off of Twinkle and other albums (bring or wear your JAMmies for the full effect ;-)
Bring your own picnic and beverages and stay for dinner after the show. There are lots of big round tables to spread out on. Let's share a meal and our gratitude for all the earth gives us!
All profits from the event will go to the San Francisco Food Bank. If able, make an additional donation when you purchase your ticket, and bring a non-perishable food item day of. For more info on the SF Food Bank and how it helps folks in our local community, visit http://www.sffoodbank.org
MORE ABOUT A CHARITY AND THE JAMBAND CONCERT: Kids and their grownups should come to Charity and the JAMband's show prepared for a happy, healthy, indoor "mini-Woodstock for families." The band is renowned for its funky and unforgettable grooves, stick-in-your-head melodies, and lyrics that talk up to kids. All of their songs have accompanying choreography, so the mosh pit is always grooving. Charity and theJAMband shows are a rocking celebration of coming together as one big family, united by song, dance and love.
Says Charity Kahn, "We've had such awesome experiences through the years with our outdoor family concerts at the Park Chalet. With this wintertime show, we hope to replicate that vibe, only indoors! We're aiming for a warm and cozy feeling in the wonderful setting of the Janet Pomeroy Center. There's plenty of room for the kids to dance and lots of natural light a whole wall of windows looking out onto a eucalyptus grove, with Lake Merced twinkling in the distance. Ending a rock 'n' roll show with a lullaby set is something I've wanted to do forever. We'll play about half an hour of our more mellow songs to send people out the door. For those who'd like to say a while longer, we'll have a "bring-your-own-food" indoor picnic! There's no need to bring a picnic blanket. The Janet Pomeroy Center has lots of big, round tables."
Since 2004, Charity and the JAMband have been bringing the rock 'n' roll experience to families, touching the hearts and inspiring the dancing feet of this generation's breed of family music lovers. On their new album, Family Values, Charity and the JAMbandtake lovingkindness, compassion, joy, equanimity, patience, understanding, generosity, community, intention, non-harming, gratitude, respect, mindfulness, waking up, truth, and peace for ALL, and wrap them up in a powerful musical package. With its exploration of a set of "human family values," the album allows the band to shine as never before, giving full rein to their astonishing ability to span everything from pared down contemplation to full on, raging rock 'n' roll.
