Watermark Live announces 'Inside The Mitten' concert featuring The Macpodz with special guest SP3, November 23, 2012

We're throwing THE black Friday party! Come relax after fending off hordes of shoppers at the stores.

The Macpodz with special guest SP3 will take the stage at Watermark 920 (920 Washington Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441) on November 23, 2012, at 6pm via the concert series, Inside The Mitten.

Born out of the lake shore city of Muskegon, Inside the Mitten is a concert showcase of Michigan-based musical acts that put their experiences of the peninsulas to music. Inside The Mitten was created and is hosted by Watermark Live with concerts held at Watermark 920. Artists are not chosen based on genre, rather they are chosen because they exhibit rare potential.

THE MACPODZ, performing on November 23rd, This Ann Arbor quintet has traversed the land burning calories and inciting smiles for some time now. With the 2007 release of their jaw dropping debut album, "Genius Food For Super Heroes", The Macpodz instantly ignited a carreer that any Michigan artist would envy. The 'podz have backed the legendary activist John Sinclair, performed at major national festivals such as Electric Forest, and traversed the country spreading their masterful blend of "disco bebop". The band coined the term to describe their melting pot style of music. With their feet firmly grounded in the hip shaking style of Sly and The family stone, their shoulders burdened with the responsibility of paying homage to the jazz greats like Miles Davis, and their heads bopping with the fury of a funky Red Hot Chili Peppers bass solo, The Macpodz assemble like the Great Pyramid to create one of the most impressive wonders Michigan has ever seen.

Through a structured, moderated discussion, The Macpodz will not only perform, but in Inside The Mitten fashion, 'The Podz will expound on every facet of what it has taken them to get where they are. The evening will be moderated by Lou Jeannot, Co-Founder of Mux Rec and conducted through his ability to capture candid and insightful conversation.

SP3: Opening the evening is Grand Haven's own, SP3, led by world renowned rhythmist, clinician, and teacher, Scott Pellegrom. SP3 also includes Michigan music scene heavies, keyboardist/vocalist Ryan Wilson (Southpaw Players, 5iveit) as well as guitartist/vocalist Kevin Kozel. This well versed trio has been in the studio writing/recording 2 separate EP's. One album is set to be instrumental, the other lyric based. Catch this elusive group as they gain footing around the state. Make sure to come early to hear just how powerful, soulful, and rock and roll 3 just 3 dudes can be.
