Allen Herman - Free Strokes (1)
Allen Herman, who studied with Joe Morello and has been working with this method and Stick Control for 50 years will present the fundamental principles of George L Stone's Free Stroke method along with demonstrations of the Stick Control book.
Stick Control, is designed for the development of the Free Stroke and its execution will be the topic of this first drum technique clinic by Allen Herman. The discussion will also include George L Stones form, and associated physics.
The George L Stone Method
George L Stone is the author of Stick Control, a drum technique book that is widely referred to by teachers, educators and drummers alike as the Bible of drum books. Along with writing this drum book, George L Stone also developed a technical approach unique to his own thinking that departed from any previous approach developed by the drum culture. He taught this method of technique to Joe Morello, who promoted this approach and his teacher George L Stone for his entire career and life.
