Oktoberfest: History of Philadelphia Craft Brewing
Join the Museum Council of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley for our annual fall networking event on Thursday, November 8, 2012!  Hosted at Philadelphia History Museum at the Atwater Kent, Oktoberfest: History of Philadelphia Craft Brewing will provide an enjoyable evening of networking opportunities and entertaining education for students and museum professionals.

The program runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with light refreshments and fall-themed beverages from Art in the Age and Philadelphia Distilling Co., and of course, draughts from a local brewery!

From 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., learn about the Philadelphia History Museum from interacting with professionals that helped to create its new exhibits:  Kristen Froehlich (Director of the Collection, PHM), Keith Ragone (Principal, Keith Ragone Studio), and Kathy McHoes (Information Designer, Night Kitchen Interactive). Participate in activities to start a dialogue with new colleagues (created by Philly Emerging Museum Professionals). Prizes will be awarded!

As a key part of our Oktoberfest evening, listen to a brief presentation by Rich Wagner at 7:30 p.m., author of the book "Philadelphia Beer" and consultant to PHM's "Made in Philadelphia, Craft Brewing: It's a Beer Revolution" exhibition. Wagner, an expert on old brewing practices, will discuss the rich history of microbreweries in Philadelphia.

Cost, including museum admission and all food and drinks, is only $8 for students, $12 for Museum Council Members, and $20 for non-members.
