Converge Dance Festival 2017
On April 21st and 22nd 2017, Sapience Dance Collective will produce Converge Dance Festival 2017 at The Erickson Theater in Seattles Capitol Hill Arts District neighborhood. The Converge Dance Festival is an annual Seattle festival now in its fourth year. This annual festival serves the need for a recurring platform for Seattle artists working in the dance and performance art disciplines to be supported in the creation and production of their work.
The festival aims to strengthen the cultural values of the Seattle art community by preserving its history and sustaining its future by facilitating community engagement and participation.
This year's festival will fully produce eight Seattle-based dance artists, and will provide a professional performing opportunity for about 30 artists. This year, the festival serves emerging and mid-career Seattle-based choreographers.
Converge Dance Festival 2017 is a manifestation of the companys most important goals, which are to build community and foster artistic development. The current director partnership is focused on continuing the growth of the festival with an aim to present innovative work focused on artistic collaboration.
Sapience Dance Collective is a partner artist and fiscally sponsored organization of Shunpike.
Converge Dance Festival is produced, directed, and curated by Sapience Dance Collective Co-Directors Angelica DeLashmette and Kelsey Hamon.
