Speaker Biography

Scott Franklin earned a degree in environmental studies and plant and soil science from the University of Vermont. After graduation he volunteered at a biodynamic goat farm while teaching English in France.  He learned that farming combined his love of food, working with his hands, and being outdoors.  He worked in Long Island as a farmer and market manager on the eighty-acre farm and bustling farm stand. After a season of learning the ins-and-outs of a large CSA farm at Siena Farms in Sudbury, MA Scott decided to set out on his own, landing happily at Norwell Farms where he has been farming successfully for 5 years.
