LAND OF MINE
NOMINATED - Best Foreign Language Film (Denmark)
Saturday February 11, 2017 8:00 PM at the Museum of Tolerance
Written and directed by Martin Zandvliet, Land of Mine follows the previously hidden story of Denmarks darkest hour: In the days following the surrender of Nazi Germany in May 1945, German POWs (many just boys) held in Denmark were put to work by the Allied Forces. With minimal or no training in defusing explosives, they were sent to remove by hand in excess of two million of their own landmines from the Danish west coast where the Nazis thought the Allied invasion might occur. An onstage discussion with director/writer Martin Zandvliet, producer Mikael Christian Rieks and moderator Brett Ratner will follow the screening of the film. Rated R. 101 minutes. In Danish and German with English subtitles. No Charge. Advance RSVP Required. RSVP below:
