Wednesday February 15, 2017 at the Museum of Tolerance
5:30 PM Reception and Opportunity to View the Exhibition, Hadar: The Final Peace
6:00 PM Hear from Hadar's Parents and Distinguished Guests
Hadar Goldin was killed by Hamas terrorists on August 1, 2014, two hours after a cease-fire was declared in Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. Hamas continues to hold his body hostage to this day. Hadar was a remarkably gifted young man, a happy and lively person with an easy and winning smile. He was an accomplished painter and graphic artist who addressed both secular and religious themes in his art. Hadar was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a people person who firmly believed in and preached the importance of sharing joy and friendship among all people. He and his twin brother Tzur both embroidered on their rifle belts the words Oz vAnavah, Strength and Humility, which they saw as the characteristics of a Jewish fighter, who has the courage to use his weapon when needed, but also has the humility to restrain from its use in the service of peace.
Exhibition on display through February 20th.
