The Unveiling: A Fundraising Event
Roots Productions is launching an IndieGoGo.com fundraising campaign to mount a staged read/sing through of Tamara Rowe's original musical "Pull Back the Veil" in January of 2013. This is the first step towards a full world premier production!
During this particular event, you will be introduced to this exciting new musical by it's author Tamara Rowe who will give you a glimpse into her amazing journey of creation over the past several years. In addition, there will be live performances of some of the music from the show and an unveiling of the show's promotional video as part of the newly launched IndieGoGo sight campaign.
Tasty, energizing appetizers, fresh coconut juice/water and hot fresh ginger tea are a complimentary part of the evening as well.
"Pull Back the Veil"* Synopsis :
Transcending the constructs of linear time and space, Pull Back the Veil is a shamanic musical. It flows fluidly through enduring myths, bringing relevance to archetypes and legends from antiquity.
Pull Back the Veil begins with the death of a present-day priestess. It follows Mnemosyne's cosmic journey through the mystical depths of the afterlife, simultaneously perilous yet beautiful. Her choices illuminate the consciousness of her nature and the lightness of her heart. Concurrently, the aftermath of her transition is observed in the lives of her family and priestess sisters, in particular her once estranged niece, Aletheia, who begins to awaken to her own calling as a priestess despite resistance from her husband, Ben, who does not understand the profound changes in his wife.
With an emphasis on the balance of both shadow and light, lunar and solar, divine feminine and sacred masculine, Pull Back the Veil explores the idea of wholeness. It features one example of the integration process of our scattered soul parts to generate healing and awareness through our heroine's journey. Embracing the ancient teachings of reincarnation, Pull Back the Veil illustrates that we return again and again to fulfill our spiritual destinies.
Pull Back the Veil celebrates the Goddess who dwells sweetly and passionately within each of our hearts. This piece showcases aspects of the modern priestess movement through ceremony and song, witness and compassion. It encourages the viewer to pull back the veil and glimpse that which is holy and sublime, to dive deeply and fiercely to remember the divinity inherent in all beings. It is an invitation to live the mystery.
