Catie Curtis Voices United Concert
Catie Curtis's list of accomplishments spans 14 albums, songs featured on TV shows Greys Anatomy, Dawsons Creek, and Felicity; and movies like Finding Graceland and A Slipping Down Life. For over 25 years, she has been a perennially popular headliner, appearing at Lilith Fair, Carnegie Hall, performing arts centers, concert halls, folk clubs, music festivals and the White House! She was even dubbed a folk rock goddess by The New Yorker.
Voices United Concerts were created to raise awareness and funds for Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU), a crucially important non-profit that lobbies, litigates and educates to protect the church/state line (and expose the radical agenda of the Religious Right). Our shows have included such greats as Sarah Silverman, Ani DiFranco, Dar Williams, Louis Black, Kate Clinton, Mary Chapin Carpenter, John Gorka and countless others. The first season in 2012 included 75 house concerts (one in every state) over one weekend in September!
Americans United for Separation of Church and State, located in Washington, DC, is dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans. Their outreach and legal teams advocate for LGBT marriage equality, protecting womens reproductive rights, keeping religion out of public schools and fighting faith-based discrimination.
