I AM ARTIST is an annual performance series presented by the Alumni Theater Company (ATC). ATC's work represents the artistic voice of today's urban teen. There are four events included in this year's series:
WHY DON'T YOU COME AROUND MY WAY?| October 19-20 | 7PM
Kelly-Strayhorn Theater | 5941 Penn Avenue
An average day in an average hood? Not even close. In this original ATC story, neighbors are forced into a battle to the finish. This show is appropriate for patrons 12 and up.

ATC MASTER CLASS | October 27 | 2PM 4PM
PearlArts Studios | 201 N. Braddock Ave.
High school ATC members teach this rigorous two hour hip hop master class to other aspiring teen dancers.
HALLOWEEN OPEN MIC NIGHT | October 31 | 7PM
Kelly-Strayhorn Theater | 5941 Penn Avenue
The place to be on Halloween! ATC will select 10 talented Pittsburgh teens to perform! Audience members vote for best performance! And...THERE WILL BE CANDY!

ATC ARTIST SHOWCASE | November 2 | 7PM
Kelly-Strayhorn Theater | 5941 Penn Avenue
This evening will include an I AM ARTIST cabaret reception, a showcase of student choreographed dance pieces, and the one act play "Dog Sees God" directed by ATC alum Michaelangelo Turner. "Dog Sees God" imagines characters from the comic strip Peanuts as teenagers. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful. This show is appropriate for patrons 15 and up.
