The Berkshire Bach Society is proud to present the latest in its series of Bach Chamber Music Concerts at the Berkshire "branch" of one of Bach's favorite venues, Zimmermann's Coffeehaus in Leipzig. The October 28 program will feature members of the Berkshire Bach Ensemble along with renowned harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper.
In the genial atmosphere of the First Congregational Church, Great Barrington, the complete performance of Bach's Inventions, a Berkshire premiere, is designed to amuse, stimulate, move and entertain you. First in the program are all of the familiar Two-Part Inventions some of the most magnificent miniatures ever created played by Kenneth Cooper, as written by Bach for solo harpsichord. After an intermission, Dr. Cooper will be joined by six virtuoso players, all Bach lovers, from the Berkshire Bach Ensemble for the complete set of Three-Part Inventions ("Sinfonias") in chamber versions for strings and winds, allowing one to experience even more deeply Bach's astonishing range of character, emotion, design and contrapuntal fantasy. To hear all these wonderful gems in order as one complete work is a rarity, a unique Bach event.
PLEASE VISIT www.berkshirebach.org for more information, for Kenneth Cooper's bio, and bios on the other members of the Ensemble.
