Munk & Lemmy is an award-winning series of stop-motion animation from the famed Latvian animation studio, Animacijas Brigade. Munk and Lemmy are best friends. Munk is a bear and Lemmy is, well something smaller and cute; a cross between a porcupine and an anteater. In this series of short films, Munk and Lemmy have hilarious hijinks, meeting an alien, a mouse, gathering fruit from trees and enjoying life. Although they emit noises, grunt and squeaks in Latvian, the films need no translation as their noises are universal. Visually compelling, Munk & Lemmy is one of the hallmark programs of Animacijas Brigade and it is through the studio's generosity that we are able to bring the lovable duo to the Maysles Cinema. Suitable for all ages.

Film Voyagers is a program of films for younger children age 3- 7 and their parents: films from around the world -- mostly animation -- geared toward a young audience. We will be showing children's programs from Nigeria, Germany, France, Congo, Latvia and other countries. No discussion for the wee ones, but a fun morning in a small, cozy movie theatre, with organic popcorn available. Subtitles will be read aloud by trained actors. Begins at 10 am. Most films run from 60 min. to 90 min. Sundays at 10 am beginning September 30. No programming October 7 or November 25. Geared toward children ages 3-7, but enjoyable by all! Priority admission for Maysles Cinema Family Members and advance ticket holders. $8 suggested donation for non-members.
