The P. Luna Foundation helps young male victims of child abuse by hosting an amazing awareness campaign each year called Male Abuse Awareness Week, Dec 1-8.  In honor of our campaign's 5th year, we are holding one of the first major events of its kind in Southern California on December 1, 2012.  This gathering is meant to encourage and support these special victims of child abuse into breaking their silence about past abuse, and getting the help they so desperately need in order to have happier, healthier futures, families and communities.

What are the funds for?  Like the pink ribbon campaign to fight breast cancer, we need to get our own message out to encourage young males who were victims of child abuse to get into treatment.  We do this through advertising and promotion.  Unfortunately, media and news outlets, in most cases, no longer air nonprofits' Public Service Announcements for free or accept unsolicited press releases. The development of our own recognizable, cause, logo and brand is also essential for the success of this campaign.  In addition, we wish to create jobs by hiring two part-time college graduates, one to work in our office doing marketing and online outreach and another as a grant writer.  The grants we will write will fund even more outreach.  The more boys and men we reach the more their silence will be broken.

The P. Luna Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 California Nonprofit Organization and member of the Encino, California Chamber of Commerce.
