Produced by Alejandro Tey Directed by Alyssa Vera Ramos
Part documentary theatre, part theatre of the oppressed, and part live action role play Expectation is an immersive experience designed to explore the true stories of pregnant and parenting youth in Chicago. Hilarious, heartbreaking, infuriating, and triumphant, Expectation takes a close look at the difficult systems young people are forced to navigate, re-examines stereotypes and assumptions around teen pregnancy, and invites you to jump in and figure out where your voice can fit into the conversation. Audiences will replace shame and stigma with affirmation and support, and find real ways to effect change.
