QUEER shnit
The history of "queer cinema" is as old as lm history itself. From the allegedly prudish silent era, to the avant garde of the 1940s and 1950s over the broad-minded 1980s, when the upcoming "queer theory" made the intellectuals warm towards that formerly blind spot, up until today's "queer cinema" and contemporary Hollywood productions, queer cinema has been a vivid part of international lm making. But the question remains: What exactly is Queer Cinema? Is it about the homosexual subject matter, the charac- ters, the lmmakers, or even the explicit display of homosexual erotics? In its unconventional approach it resists any clear-cut classification. And indeed, Queer Cinema is more than stories from, about and for homosexuals. Its diversity shows itself best in the creative form of short lm making  as a colourful tongue-in-cheek cocktail. Gay and lesbian shorts of wit, charm and profundity. A fabulous collection of proudly 'queer' lms aimed right at the heart.
