Women of Manhattan
First produced in 1986 in New York City, Shanley's play tells the story of Rhonda Louise, Billie, and Judy, three best-friend Manhattanites. The play weaves their three stories together, all dealing with the ups and downs of life and love. Shanley's script investigates the nature of friendship and gives a beautiful "slice of life" drama which, while set in Manhattan, resonates across all times and places. Every bit as funny as it is moving, Women of Manhattan is a play of depths, tears, laughter, and life.
The play goes up at the Staircase Theatre in Hamilton, ON.
