ILLVIS FRESHLY
llvis Freshly is a funky, bass heavy, hip-hop monster. Theyve blended the classic sample heavy hip hop sound of the 90s with live rock n roll, guitar, rapping, and turntablisim. The two MCs, Danimal House and Doc Zoo, bring high energy, raw, and unforgiving lyrics with crazy flows and a wide variety of content and themes. DJ Mt Doyle is always on point, scratching, mixing, and keeping the party live. Phil Lyons absolutely shreds the guitar, captivating the crowd with face melting riffs and his ridiculously entertaining antics. Illvis Freshlys debut LP entitled What Chu Know About Illvis? received huge support from the world-wide Hip Hop, Funk, and Electronic scenes. 2015 was a big year for Illvis Freshly, winning Best Urban/Electronic Recording for their song On The Breaks and Group of The Year from the Vancouver Island Music Awards. In November 2016 they released their sophomore album, Illennials, a take on our current state of affairs regarding everything from politics to the disenfranchised millennial generation.
Illvis Freshly has been able to bring their feel good party vibes to a number of amazing festivals such as Atmosphere Gathering, Shambhala Music Festival, Rifflandia, Electric Love, Song and Surf, and Tall Tree Music Festival. BLACKWOOD KINGS
Now three years into their evolution, Blackwood Kings has proven to be one of the more unique bands to pop up in the Victoria BC scene. In essence, theyre a punk band, but while contemporaries may lean towards buzz-saw-distorted guitars and shouted vocals, Blackwood Kings favour the reverb-laden upstrokes of ska and dub, producing a politically and emotionally charged brand of reggae fusion that is uniquely their own. And while the foundation of Blackwood Kings sound is comprised of the aforementioned Jamaican genres, no musical idea is off limits, with songs frequently travelling into disparate realms such as math rock, Latin, and jungle/drum n bass.

Blackwood Kings is primed to release their second EP in the fourth quarter of 2015. While short in length, the four-track release showcases the diversity of the group's sound. Lead single "Into The Blue" (features frantic jungle drumming and skankin' guitars doused in reverb and delay. "Paralysis" takes the listener on a journey through angular stops and psychedelic bass-heavy dub, while "Idle Nature" sees the band explore their ska roots with danceable upstrokes and a catchy chorus. "Upholding lies that blind us from the dirty minds that bind us/ Contending ideologies contain and then divide us" pines frontman Chris Zielonka on "Break Away", an earth-shaking dub track that morphs into a Latin-tinged sax-and-trombone conversation.

Blackwood Kings' varied and malleable style has allowed them to share the stage with notable acts such as metal-ska weirdos Ninjaspy, Paapa Wastik of Ghana, iconic ska-punks Authority Zero, Polynesian reggae superstar J-Boog, and Jamaican pioneers, Third World. The group has appeared at festivals such as Rifflandia, Victoria Ska & Reggae Fest and Limelight Youth Arts, while also lending their performances to socio-political events such as the University of Victoria "Earth Fest" with speakers such as the Green Party's Elizabeth May, and a fundraiser for building a hospital in Sierra Leone alongside acclaimed reggae/afrobeat group Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars.

Things are truly just getting started for this young, progressive dub sextet.

DJ ANGER
KRS One once said I am the manifestation of study, not the manifestation of money and the same thing rings true of DJ Anger. This self-taught turntable virtuoso, devoted business man and music aficionado, has vastly spread his influence as one of the most solid DJs and party rockers on the west coast.

Getting his start after the purchase of a set of Technics 1200s in grade school, Anger taught himself to DJ and his hobby quickly evolved into moonlighting as one of the citys most in demand DJs. A chameleon in his sound, Angers hip hop roots have developed in versatility to keep him right at the edge of the newest styles, all the while maintaining the throwback influences. Delving into sounds ranging from funk to breaks, reggae to bass heavy, Angers ability to keep the crowd dancing keeps him in the limelight and sharing stages with some of the biggest in music today.

Expanding his music abilities to the production world, Anger has been busy with numerous releases forthcoming. Working alongside like-minded artists has brought his two decades worth of music knowledge to the forefront as he fits right in among other producers. Lately Anger has also grown into a mentor for aspiring DJs within the musical community. With a mission of encouraging up and comers to get off the controllers and onto turntables, Anger assists in supporting those with the drive to succeed. Whether it be pushing new artists to explore turntables or travelling to Miami to help save Blowflys house, Angers dedication to the musical cause is unmatched.

Beyond the music, Anger also splits his time between his business, Party People Sound Solutions; a mobile DJ/gear rental service he runs alongside Jeff Lingwood (DJ Primitive). Besides PPSS, Anger also embarked on overseeing the investment of one of Vancouver Islands first PK Sound rigs with Ruairi Matthews. Focusing on developing the community, PK Victoria has established itself as a hub of creative individuals. Developing solid roots as they commence their third year in the city, PK Victorias momentum has turned their headquarters into a full-fledged space of both visual and auditory artists complete with a family vibe. In addition, Anger is an essential part of the PK Sound Village Stage crew at the Shambhala Music Festival. As the Construction Manager for the stage in his fifth year with the group, Anger will be seeing some big things both behind and on the stage at Shambhala Music Festival 2015.

Whether you catch DJ Anger behind the decks or in one of his many other specialties, you can guarantee that this professional will keep you dancing and moving regardless of the scene or location. An antonym of his name, Anger comes correct with style, flair and that trademark smile.

MT. DOYLE
Mt. Doyle is a product of his environment The outstanding electronic music scene of Vancouver Island. Originally a purveyor of fine Drum n Bass, Doyle has expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful west coast flavor. Over the years Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over B. C. including The Commodore Ballroom and The Tall Tree Festival 6 years in a row. In that time hes shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Funkanomics, Serial Killaz, Slynk, Netsky, Camo & Krooked and Andy C, not to mention many of the west coasts finest. With a mountainous lust for music and versatile style, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time any place with whatever the hell he wants.
