Jeffrey Garten: Where are we now?
"Continued globalization is inevitable. Given the technological revolution were in now, nothings going to stop it." Noted Yale professor and economist Jeffrey E. Garten explores the evolution of globalization, and what the international community must do to adapt in modern times. Garten draws from his book, From Silk to Silicon: The Story of Globalization Through Ten Extraordinary Lives and will bring to bear his experience as a professor and former dean of the Yale School of Management, undersecretary of commerce for international trade in the Bill Clinton administration, and thirteen years as an international investment banker.

Books will be available for purchase after the presentation, and there will be an opportunity to have them signed by the author.

Jeffrey Garten is currently dean emeritus at the Yale School of Management, where he teaches courses on the global economy. Prior to joining Yale in 1996, he served in the Nixon, Ford, and Carter administrations, and he was undersecretary of commerce in the Clinton administration. Garten was also a managing director at Lehman Brothers, where he specialized in debt restructuring in Latin America and Asia, and subsequently worked on mergers and acquisitions as a managing director at the Blackstone Group. He has written widely on global topics in BusinessWeek, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy and the Harvard Business Review, and is the author of five books on global economics and politics.
