College Funding: The Basics and What to Expect when Paying for College
The average four-year cost for an in-state university can be upwards of $95,000, for public universities, and as high as $180,000 for private colleges. With college costs always increasing, and the average graduation times growing, all parents are in need for strategies and solutions to help them understand how best to save and pay for college.
In this workshop, designed for parents of college-bound teens and early starters, Michael Kayhan will discuss strategies for reducing the out-of-pocket cost of college. The following topics will be covered:
Fundamentals of college planning and funding (Financial Aid, Savings Options, FAFSA, etc.), Practical strategies to increase financial aid eligibility, college saving, and tax strategies, and Costly mistakes to avoid Please join us for an insightful and informative presentation.
Michael Kayhan is a graduate of Stanford University and has taught for the business schools of a variety of local colleges and universities for 17 years. He currently leads his own college planning firm and is a registered investment advisor.
This program is open to parents of college-bound teens, as well as teens who are preparing for college.
