La Grange-Frink Alumni & Friends Association, Triangle Chapter sponsors AKEELAH AND THE BEE a North Carolina Central University Dept of Theatre & Dance presentation adapted for stage by Cheryl L. West, based on the original screen play by Doug Atchison. AKEELAH AND THE BEE tells the life's lesson of a sagacious 11 year old from the Chicago Projects who learns the value of tenacity and the strength of community.
