Cooking Jewish
Cooking by the Book, inc New York, NY
Please join us in a spirited discussion of Jewish cooking and family lore with the food writer Judy Bart Kancigor, author of the hilarious and heart-breaking memoir-cookbook, Cooking Jewish (Workman, 2007)
Judy will discuss such things as the three-minute rule for entertaining: Entering guests must be fed within 3 minutes. Come in. Give me your coat. Heres a knish.
Judy will also describe her extended familys kugel wars, shell tell us the secret to her mothers chicken soup and her splat! method for the crispiest latkes. Shell also recount how she took a self-published family cookbook and sold an amazing 11,000 copies.
Well need members to prepare food from the book to bring to the event and credit will be awarded. Please e-mail Miriam Rubin if youd like to assist or make a dish mrubin@windstream.net.
Many thanks to Jennifer Par Neugeboren and Workman Publishing for their generous assistance
