Carol's Holiday Party
Join 350 of my "close personal friends" at this annual charity Holiday Party. It may seem weird to attend a party at the home of someone you don't know, but I sincerely DO hope you all will be there. It is truly open to all of the wonderful women AND men of Houston's GLBT community. The party is an opportunity to meet new friends, and reconnect with old ones at the most festive home party of the year!
This year's beneficiary is The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, which raises money to help openly LGBT candidates win election to local, state and federal offices. The suggested donation is $35, which includes open bar and a bountiful selection of hot and cold appetizers. You can make your donation at the door, or here via credit card or PayPal.
To make it easier to meet people, each guest selects a glow-in-the-dark bracelet. An index chart explains what each color means:
* You're too late. I'm already taken.
* Well, I came with someone but I'd consider a better offer.
* I'm single but selective - at least until midnight.
* I've lowered my standards. If you're breathing, you'll do.
* I am NOT making a statement. I am just accessorizing.
And we also provide Conversation Cards, an optional tool for creating stimulating conversations. Whether you discuss your favorite childhood snacks or whether you'd rather be lucky or good, the cards will provide hundreds of interesting topics to inspire your gift of gab.
The event features a full open bar and tons of great food. Here's this year's menu:
Smoked pork tenderloin with Texas chutney
Mushrooms stuffed with spicy sausage or Spinach soufflé
Cheezy poofs with spicy mustard
Artichoke jalapeño dip
pepper boats with feta and olives
Asparagus with Wasabi Dip
Shrimp salad on cucumber
Special thanks to this year's sponsors: Ketel One Vodka, Barefoot Wines, Smirnoff Vodka, Budweiser/Silver Eagle Distributing Co, and Red Bull.
I'm looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces on Dec.1st! If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.
SPECIAL NOTE: I wanted to let you all know that a film crew will be at the party from 8 to 9 pm. They are associated with a potential reality series associated with my gay guest ranch project. They've promised to be as unobtrusive as possible.
