Les Miserables
World Trade Center Theatre Portland, OR
Staged! is holding a special benefit performance of Les Miserables, with proceeds going to the Gulu Rehabilitation Center for Children of War in Uganda. Please join us for this added performance on Monday, April 14th at 7pm.
"Les Miserables" is one of the longest-running, most beloved plays on Broadway, and this spring it will be performed by an all-Portland cast for the first time. Even more unique, the cast is made up entirely of students. These young theatre all-stars come from across the Portland metro area ranging in age from 9-20.
Staged! is bringing their signature uncluttered, music-centered approach to this epic musical. The student actors will be backed by a live orchestra made up of both professional and student musicians.
Dubbed "the theatre company to keep your eye on" by The Oregonian, this young company continues to live up to its promise with their fresh take on a Broadway favorite.
"Les Miserables" is set in 1815 in pre-revolution France. Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, the play follows the lives of several compelling characters over a 20-year period. It is ultimately a story of redemption.
Directed by Paul Angelo; Musical Direction by Andrew Bray.
Starring Morgan Mallory, Gregory Talbot, Stephanie Leppert, Courtney Watson, Larry Taylor, and Jordan Parkyn.
Note: Join us in the lobby prior to Saturday matinees for our lively pre-performance chats with some of our Artistic Associates. Fun, informative, and free!
