October marks the return of BROTHER CULTURE to the Dub Mission stage. CULTURE last performed in the Bay Area with legendary producer Adrian Sherwood at Dub Mission's 15th Anniversary. A killer MC, he will be joining DJ SEP for a special Dub Mission Sound System set. DUBSMASHERS featuring ROCKER T will open.
Massively talented, prolific, and tireless, MC Brother Culture is always at the cutting edge of topics in the root scene. An experienced, charismatic performer, Brother Culture started in 1982 with Jah Revelation Muzik Sound System, and was an MC with London's influential Dub Club in the '90s. He has recorded or toured with Aswad, Mungo's Hi Fi, Zion Train, Adrian Sherwood, J*Star, Kanka, Isis, Subsonar, and Manasseh, and has recorded for Dubhead, Scotch Bonnet, M Records, Dubmatix, Roots Garden, System Error, Digital Dubs, Flex Label, Dragonfly, Hammerbass, Liquid Dub, LSD, and others. Brother Culture was the principal artist on the Trojan Sound System album and has a long list of releases to his name. So far this year he has toured Europe, the U.K., Hong Kong, Philippines, India, Brazil, and Mexico. He also has two new releases on Ras Kush's respected Black Redemption label, including "Protection" (a favorite of Jah Shaka's) and "Now is the time," both tracks mixed by the mighty Russ disciple. Recently he also released "Good Word," produced by the legendary Nick Manasseh on the Roots Garden label, a tune that speaks of the futility of religious division. Brother Culture appears regularly at the Hootananny (renown roots night in Brixton, London) with his original sound system Jah Revelation Muzik. Brother Culture stands for equal rights and justice for ALL: non aggressive, non judgmental, international.
