The Food Folly Follies
The Food Folly Follies is the brainchild of Abil Bradshaw, an actress with a Masters degree in Nutrition. In the first half of the show Abil serves up super-sized helpings of cultural commentary through a smorgasbord of colorful characters. In the second half of the show, the larger than life real character, Abil, will field questions from the audience about diet and nutrition. This is an educational, theatrical experience that has never been tried before. Perhaps a new direction in nutrition education is a good thing....Come check it out.
The show was written, and is performed by Abil Bradshaw, MS, CN. For her Masters thesis she examined the effects of poetry and performance on adult, dietary behavior-change. Abils presentation style defines the term, edutainment. True to her theatrical roots, Abils presentations are dramatic and humorous, as well as educational. The show is directed by David Orace Kelly, an international performer, director, and teacher. His theatrical experience includes directing, acting and fight direction, choreography, scenic and lighting design, and juggling. He has directed some thirty three productions and now teaches drama at Explorer West Middle School. The Food Folly Follies is sponsored by COCA (The Center on Contemporary Art), and Skagit River Ranch and Full Circle Farm.
There will be free drawings for a $100. gift-certificate from Skagit River Ranch certified organic meats and a CSA box of organic produce from Full Circle Farm.
