Live Talk: We Shall Overcome

Pivot Arts' monthly LIVE TALK show is part performance, part live talk show at Uncommon Ground 1401 W. Devon. This unique evening includes quirky performances, interviews, live music and the very special, Pivot DIY. The January 18th show will be a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the 1965 passage of the Voting Rights Act.

We Shall Overcome will be hosted by comedian, Dewayne Perkins, Second City National Touring Company Member called "...naturally hilarious and witty..." by PA Theater Guide. Freelance journalist, Mark Guarino (Washington Post, The Guardian, among other major media outlets), interviews esteemed guests about the Voting Rights Act. Actress and Educator, Quenna Barrett, leads the Pivot DIY. Performances by Spoken Word Artist, Tiff Beatty, performer Jorge A. Silva plus musical duo Emmy Bean and Stacy Erenberg!
