The Hootenanny Brothers in Concert: A Tribute to the Kingston Trio proudly presented by Maggie's Farm Theater
John and Pat O'Loughlin, aka Hootenanny Brothers, grew up listening to the Kingston Trio on their family's Magnavox console stereo in Rochester, MN. And it's no wonder. The Kingston Trio kicked off the folk music revival in 1959 and everybody was listening to their LPs in the early '60s. The Kingston Trio recorded 62 albums and at one time had four albums in Billboards Top 10, a feat unsurpassed to this day. Pat has been playing clawhammer banjo and English concertina for folk dancers for many years. He's recorded four CDs with Contratopia. He has a great ear for folk music as a singer and instrumentalist. His brother John plays guitar and sings. John performs as a folk, jazz, pop, and country vocalist and has recorded four CDs with Beasley's Big Band. Together, Pat and John perform around the Twin Cities as the Hootenanny Brothers. They'll have you singing along to rousing music of the Kingston Trio, including "Tom Dooley," "Greenback Dollar," "MTA," and "Scotch & Soda."
