Death's Door Spirits' juniper harvest started in 2008 as a way to bring out folks from "off island" at a time of year when tourism slips after school begins for the children and the northerly winds usher in the autumn colors on the Washington Island trees.
From those humble beginnings, the event has grown into an occasion where Death's Door Spirits employees, their families and friends from all over the country come to exhale and relax before the busy holiday season and to celebrate the company's successes and happenings since the last juniper harvest.
Pick wild juniper berries of which make up a small portion of the juniper used in Death's Door Spirits' award winning gin, enjoy a lunch time fish boil, scavenger hunt, pig roast using pigs raised on Death's Door Spirits spent mash, and more.
