| Description |
Celebrate the Man in Black at the Fourth Annual Cash Bash, hosted by Mandy Marie and the Cool Hand Lukes in the intimate and oh so deco Radio Radio in Fountain Square. February 26 was Johnny Cash's birthday, and every year about this time Mandy Marie (formerly of the local dieselbilly band The Freightliners) picks up her Telecaster guitar (with twang in her heart and on her mind) to pay tribute to her now fallen hero.
This years event is extra special to the local musician because her band will be joined by another of Lukes longtime heroes Bill Kirchen and with Radio Radio's intimate setting, this show will attract fans from across the region.
Mandy Marie and the Cool Hand Lukes, which features Luke on guitar and lead vocals, Morrison Foster on the upright bass, Rick Weaver on guitar and Lewis Scott Jones on drums, will play nothing but Johnny Cash tunes for the night.
Bigger Than Elvis, featuring well-known local talents Danny Thompson (also of The Messarounds and formerly of Sloppy Seconds), Tufty (of Toxic Reasons and Zero Boys fame) and Mark Cutsinger (of the Zero Boys), also will perform.NOTE: No-one under 21 years old will be admitted.
