Real Food with Rachel
Are you new to cooking? Looking to transition from mixes to from-scratch? Do you want to learn in a low key, fun environment?
Allow Rachel Tayse Baillieul, a practiced home cook and urban homesteader behind the blog Hounds In The Kitchen, to make real food with you at Wild Goose Creative. Each casual two-hour class will involve cooking kitchen classics with wholesome ingredients.
October 21 - Whole Bird Cooking
Prepare for holiday meals by flavoring, oven-roasting, and carving a Cornish game hen. Learn the keys to a succulent bird and gain the confidence to serve a whole bird for special occasions and every day.
November 18 - Pies, Sweet & Savory
Master a good pie crust and the proverbial oyster is yours - fill it with fruit for dessert, eggs for breakfast quiche, or meat and potatoes for dinner. We'll each make a small hand pie in this class to practice mixing, rolling, and filling the perfect pie.
December 16 - Sauces
Meals are elevated when paired with a proper gravy, compote, vinaigrette, hollandaise, or bechamel. We will make master recipes for these sauces that can be customized to your meal and ingredients.
All classes meet from 3 to 5 pm at Wild Goose Creative, 2491 Summit St, Columbus OH 43202 and include recipe sheets, personalized instruction, and snack-sized samples.
