A Touch of Well Arts
Well Arts Institute celebrates 12 years of theatre and healing with its fundraiser,  A Touch of Well Arts at Hollywood Senior Center, on October 6th, 2011, 6:30pm, 1820 NE 40th Avenue, hosted by Emmy-winning actor/producer Christopher Toyne, with live swing music by the Jenny Finn Orchestra, and sustainable, fresh dinner provided by Crave Catering, admission $20.  A Touch of Well Arts features live music by the swing band Jenny Finn Orchestra, fresh and locally sourced food by Crave Catering, performances and speeches by workshop participants and actors, and a silent auction and raffle where you can get your holiday shopping done early!  Emmy award winning actor Christopher Toyne hosts the evening!  Sponsor Hollywood Senior Center partners with Well Arts to provide arts programming for people living with physical illness, mental illness, and other life-changing events, along with partners REACH Community Development, Portland Vet Center, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Portland Actors' Conservatory. Well Arts facilitates writing workshops with people facing life-altering health issues, partnering each workshop participant with a professional actor who performing their stories on stage for the general community.  

This year, Well Arts will be maintaining five programs, working with elders, veterans with PTSD, and adults and youth living with mental illness, helping them find healing by sharing their stories and creating art from their experience

Well Arts Institute is a ten year old 501(c)3 arts-in-healthcare nonprofit that provides writing workshops for people facing life altering health issues, pairing each participant with a professional actor who performs their stories on stage for the general public, giving people a cultural voice during life-changing events. Well Arts Institute has partnered with Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, OHSU, Elders in Action, Friendly House, Portland Vet Center, and many others.
