All performances for the 2017 Season will take place at Drew Methodist Church, 28 Gleneida Avenue in Carmel.

First up is Neil Simon's CALIFORNIA SUITE. It's a humorous confection with four scenes: Visitors from New York; Visitors from Philadelphia; Visitors from London; and Visitors from Chicago. Each of the four vignettes in this comedy will have its own director: Mario Riccobon, Christopher Moser, Christopher Gladysz and Nic Anthony Calabro.

In June, BTC will present TWELVE ANGRY JURORS by Reginald Rose, directed by Stacy Dumont. A 19-year-old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. "He doesn't stand a chance," mutters the guard as the 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open-and-shut case -- until one of the jurors begins opening the others' eyes to the facts. "This is a remarkable thing about democracy," says the foreign-born juror, "that we are notified by mail to come down to this place -- and decide on the guilt or innocence of a man; of a man we have not known before. We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. We should not make it a personal thing." But personal it does become, with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short, arguments grow heated, and the jurors become 12 angry men. The jurors' final verdict and how they reach it will electrify the audience and keep them on the edge of their seats.

Our summer musical will be URINETOWN. With music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and book by Greg Kotis, it will be directed by Christopher Gladysz with musical direction by Melissa Jones. A sidesplitting send-up of greed, love, revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, URINETOWN is a hilarious musical satire which provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought has led the citizens to use public amenities because of a government-enforced ban on private toilets. A hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! URINETOWN is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. URINETOWN has an outrageous perspective, a wickedly modern wit and a sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

Our fall production is the classic YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU, by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. At first the Sycamore family seems mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder.
