Chansons Profanes
Boston Choral Ensemble, one of New England's premier chamber choirs, will open its 12th season with Chansons Profanes on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 8:00 pm and Friday, November 11, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Longy School of Music's Edward Pickman Hall in Cambridge.
Celebrating the anniversaries of Claude Debussy (1862-1918) and Jean Françaix (1912-97), this concert features French music from the twentieth century that combines humor and virtuosity. It will include little-known works by Ravel, Fauré and Poulenc who set the texts of some of France's most distinguished poets, such as Valéry, Eluard and Victor Hugo.
