Miami Dade College's The Koubek Center presents: Herencia de Timbiqui  Afro-Colombian Rhythms!

The Afro-descendent group from the Pacific coast of Colombia combine ancestral instruments marimba de chonta, the bombo, cununos and the guasá  together with energetic vocals, brass, keyboards, and guitar for a rootsy yet modern, euphoric sound. The folkloric currulao ensemble honors traditional regional music styles and maintain a strong commitment to social issues, offering workshops and outreach to benefit underserved populations in Colombia.

Dance Party in the garden featuring live band, DJ'ed after party, dance instruction,specialty food and cocktail vendors & more.

8:00pm: Pre-concert dance lesson
8:30pm: DJ set
9:00pm: Performance by Herencia de Timbiqui

El Koubek Center del Miami Dade College presenta: Herencia de Timbiqui

Una serie mensual de conciertos y fiestas de baile,
con grupos de música en vivo y DJ, clases de baile,
comidas tipicas, cócteles y mucho más.

El Grupo de los Afro-descendientes de la costa del Pacífico de Colombia, combinan instrumentos ancestrales -marimba de chonta, cununos, el bombo y el guasá - junto con unas voces enérgicas, latón, teclados y guitarra obteniendo un sonido eufórico y moderno. El grupo currulao folklórico rinde homenaje a los estilos de música regional y tradicional. Herencia de Timbiqui mantiene un fuerte compromiso con las cuestiones sociales, ofreciendo talleres y servicios que benefician a las poblaciones subatendidas en Colombia.

9:00pm: Presentación de Herencia de Timbiqui
