Orkestar Zirkonium's Farewell Shebang
Orkestar Zirkonium, Seattle's beloved Balkan brass juggernaut, is finally retiring after 13 years of friendship, touring, split lips, shoe kicks, and blisteringly fast horn lines. Orkestar Zirkonium has provided the soundtrack for much of Seattle's recent history: the marriage equality celebrations at City Hall, the Obama election night street party in 2008, and enumerable Solstice Parades, Pride Parades, Folklife Festivals, Bumbershoots, Honkfests, Balkanfests, Moisture Festivals, late night pub crawls, and weddings.
Determined to go out with a bang, Orkestar Zirkonium will be throwing one last giant hurrah - renting out Washington Hall on Jan. 7th for a huge farewell celebration, with many special guests and longtime friends of the band performing:
- NANDA, the acrobaticalist ninja theater, (http://www.nandatown.com) - the world famous Seattle legend Baby Gramps, (http://www.babygramps.com) - Pastor Kaleb and the Witness, - an alumni set featuring all 25 of the players from throughout Orkestar's tenure, - and more surprises!
