Join us tonight for a perfect winter evening of stories and music.  The beautiful voice of Allison Messier  along with Jono Babbitt, will combine with the exquisite storytelling by Len Cabral for a peaceful, communal experience, enhanced by Christmas Caroling.
People are encouraged to bring seasonal drinks and snacks to share with others.

New Englands musical roots run deep and wide, stretching back to a multitude of traditions and cultures, especially around the celebration of Christmas.  Join Sakonnet Musics local favorites Allison Messier and Jono Babbitt for a festive journey through Christmas as they present seasonal offerings from Medieval chant to carols and songs of the 21st century.   Repertoire will include your favorite melodies, as well as beautiful new tunes and arrangements that will find their own place in your heart!

It was clear to Allison Messier from her earliest days watching the opera singers on Sesame Street and the Muppet Show that she had to be a singer.  She made her professional debut at age 12 as the Third Spirit in Mozarts The Magic Flute. Since that early start, she has travelled extensively around the world studying, performing and perfecting her art.  Allisons 2016 appearances included the title role in Purcells Dido and Aeneas, Il Principessa in Puccinis Suor Angelica, and various Gilbert & Sullivan roles with the Litchfield County Choral Union in Norfolk, Connecticut.  She received her Bachelor of Music degree from New England Conservatory in 2007, and continued her training in Florence, Italy at the Bel Canto Institute and in British Columbia at the Vancouver International Song Institute.

Jono Babbitt holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Yale University and the Yale School of Music, where he was Director of the Yale Freshman Chorus and Associate Director of the Yale Glee Club under Fenno Heath.  He has appeared across the United States and Canada, and toured Europe more than fifteen times as both organist and conductor, performing repertoire from the Renaissance to the contemporary.  Jono holds concurrent appointments as Music Director of the Litchfield County Choral Union at the Yale Summer School of Music and  Art in Norfolk, Connecticut, Adjunct Professor of Music at Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut, and Music Director of the New England Sacred Camerata.

Together, Allison and Jono established Sakonnet Music in 2016, performing widely across New England, and offering  private lessons, coaching and consultation out of their Adamsville, RI studio.  For more information, visit www.sakonnetmusic.com.
