"Oh how I love you!" Connecting with the audience
In order to do what we do, we need the audience! There is hardly ever a fourth wall in burlesque, our fourth wall is "the tease." The Latin root of Entertain is "to hold" and as entertainers we must hold the audience and by doing that we love them! In this class you'll learn all the vital skills of loving and connecting to your audience, body language, internal dialogue and eye contact! Bring clothing you can move in and an open heart!

Center yourself: How to prepare physically and Mentally for the stage
Burlesque performers are busy people and we often jump on stage right from our day jobs or another gig with out any chance to be present. Being present, prepared and centered on stage will turn a good performance into a stellar one! This class gives you simple stretches and brain exercises to get yourself centered and ready for some stellar stage time!

Darlinda is one half of the Burlesque duo The Schlep Sisters, co producing such shows as Menorah Horah and The Burning Bush vs.Th
e Second Coming. Darlinda is also a proud co-producer of Bushwick Burlesque and the national touring group The Dangerous Curves Ahead: Burlesque on the Go-Go. She's also performed Off Broadway and on television; Darlinda performed with Taylor Mac in The Lily's Revenge(Obie) and The 29th Annual Roots of American Music Festival at Lincoln Center. She can be found on television; in HBO's Boardwalk Empire. She's crossed over into performance art with her year long "life as art" projects. Darlinda is a current faculty member at the New York School of Burlesque and teaches locally and internationally. Sundance Channel made Darlinda a "Top 10 Badass Burlesque Babe," voted in the Top 50 International Burlesque Industry Figures of 2011! She is the recipient of the 2009 Golden Pastie Awards for The Most Innovative and Creative! USA Today says "It's hard to top Darlinda"
