What We Must Do Now
What just happened? Thats only one question that left many reeling across the country upon absorbing the announcement of an impending Trump Presidency. But just who is to blame for the most shocking election result in recent history? An electorate whose prejudices were inflamed by economic anxieties? A Democratic Party out of touch with everyday Americans? A media whose lust for ratings and story clicks made them abandon their obligation as caretakers of democracy?
As the postmortem of the presidential election continues on relentlessly, our panel will instead delve into what actions people inside and outside the media must now take, and provide a response to the urgent clamor of What We Must Do Now.
Join journalists from the South Seattle Emerald, The Seattle Globalist, Seattle Weekly and Crosscut as they discuss the road ahead for the electorate, movements and the media in the Age of Trump. Admission is free but there is a suggested donation of $5.
