When she is approached by a Canadian artist and a San Franciscan tattooer to create a gay themed cowboy boot, a story unravels of a unique collaboration that takes them to the heart of cowboy country in Northern Texas.
BOOTWMN is a heart-warming, intimate and at times funny portrait of the queering of a traditional art form
GENDER TROUBLES: THE BUTCHES By Lisa Plourde TRT 54:02
Are butches failed women? Are they lesbians who wish they were men? What portrayals of lesbians are acceptable and who gets erased?
These questions and more are thoughtfully examined and challenged by self identified butch lesbians. They challenge the assumptions about what it means to be female and show the rewards that come when we learn to accept ourselves as we are. This is a film to celebrate the butches.
