The Portable Reality Show
The Portable Reality Show is the Jewel Box Theatre's own resident Comedy Improvisation Troupe. PRS brings inprov to the next level by presenting full-length improvised plays with singing, dancing, outrageous characters and amazing stories. Part vaudeville, part high-wire act, the players of The Portable Reality Show create amazing moments of hilarity, right in front of your eyes!
Improv theater is storytelling, or better said, playwriting on the spot. It has been said that acting in improv is like being an acrobat balancing on a high wire. Improvisers take suggestions for characters and situations from the audience and launch themselves into a story without the benefit of a safety net in the form of a script. Sometimes they succeed gloriously, often they fail ignominiouslybut the results are always hilarious.
