Del Parkinson in Red Lodge
Music from the Beartooths - a concert series in Red Lodge Montana presents pianist Del Parkinson
Pianist Del Parkinson's amazing virtuosity is well known to audiences at the Red Lodge Music Festival, and throughout the Northwest. Del Parkinson is professor of piano and keyboard chair at Boise State University, where he joined the faculty in 1985. Parkinson has performed in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout the United States. His London debut recital was on the American Bicentennial Series, and his New York debut recital in Carnegie Recital Hall was sponsored by the Idaho Commission on the Arts. He has soloed with the Guadalajara Symphony, Indiana University Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Boise Philharmonic, and Utah Symphony.
Now we can hear him in a solo recital featuring works by Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin, Gershwin, Bernstein and Liszt. Each of the pieces tells a story, thus the title of the concert Once Upon a Time.
