The Progressive Village Performance Network (PVPN) is pleased to present their Fall production of Inherit the Wind.
Tennessee schoolteacher Bertram Cates is put on trial for violating the Butler Act, a state law that prohibits public school teachers from teaching evolution instead of creationism. Drawing intense national attention in the media with writer E. K. Hornbeck reporting, two of the nation's leading lawyers go head to head: Matthew Harrison Brady for the prosecution, and Henry Drummond for the defense. This battle between lawyers is as riveting as it is entertaining, and it's a battle that not only divides a town, but has an everlasting effect on the nation, and will have an effect on the theatre-goer long after the curtain comes down.
Inherit the Wind will be performed at Westview Hills Middle School (630 W. 65th St, Westmont, IL) on the following dates:
Friday, November 11 - 7:30 pm Saturday, November 12 - 7:30 pm Sunday, November 13 - 2:00 pm Friday, November 18 - 7:30 pm Saturday, November 19 - 7:30 pm Sunday, November 20 - 2:00 pm
Ticket prices are $12 for Adults and $10 for Children and Seniors (55+).
Online ticket sales will be available until 12 hours before show time. Tickets will be available at the door for folks who would like to purchase tickets on the day of the show.
