In this Small Bite Big Sips wine class we will celebrate the summer's last hooray with wines from the award winning Paumanok Winery on Long Island. The wines that will be tasted are perfect for pairing with your favor summer foods. Our fare will be created from the harvest of local farms to produce a menu that will compliment these wines.
Owner Ursula Massoud, will lead the discussion, about each wine, noting the unique quality of the wine, what grapes are used, tastings to understand the individual bouquets of the wines and how the wines compliment the menu.
Students will have the occasion to participate with simple hands-on preparation in this culinary experience.

About Paumanok Winery - Founded in the spring of 1983, Paumanok is a 103 acre estate is entirely owned and managed by Ursula and Charles Massoud, and our three sons. Born and raised in the "Old World", wine has always been a part of our lives and we continue the tradition at Paumanok Vineyards.
Only premium vinifera grapevines are planted, consisting of Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The traditional dense planting of the vineyards at 1100 vines per acre produces more concentrated fruit and therefore higher quality wines. For our wines, only estate grown grapes are used and production is limited to fewer than 9000 cases.
