Save the Newtown Theatre, Lets Get Digital
The Nation's oldest movie theatre that has been showing movies for over 106 years, is looking to keep up with technology. As part of it's fund drive to raise the $100,000.00 needed to convert from 35mm film to digital projection. A Gala Party is being held on Saturday September 29th, 2012 from 7pm to 10pm. The event will be held at the historic Newtown Theatre 120 N. State St. Newtown Pa 18940, State Street will be closed in front of the Theatre, there will be live music, a poster auction, classic movie shorts, news reels, and other vintage clips on the screen in the theatre. As this is a fund raising event, part of each ticket will be tax deductible.
