Date: Sunday, October 30
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: **** Offsite - Templo Mayor de la Santa Muerte (7602 Pacific Blvd., Huntington Park, CA 90255)
(Attendees are responsible for getting there on their own. Admission: $20

Join us for an exclusive tour of Los Angeles' Templo Mayor de la Santa Muerte with the temple's high priestess and Tomas Prower, author of the book La Santa Muerte: Unearthing the Magic & Mysticism of Death. Attendees will get a tour of the temple, and have an opportunity learn all about Santa Muerte--literally "saint" or "holy" death, a female manifestation of death whose devotion originated in Mexico but has spread throughout the diaspora.

Visitors will enjoy a tour of the temple, and will also have a chance to ask the high priestess questions, and to purchase magical amulets, statues, candles, potions, and personalized spells.

Attendees are requested to dress conservatively, the same way one would to visit any church or temple.

Tomas Prower is the half-Irish, half-Mexican author of many books, among them La Santa Muerte: Unearthing the Magic & Mysticism of Death. He is the winner of the Los Angeles Don Bosco Poets Award for the category of longform fiction.

Multi-lingual and well-traveled, this publicly out and globe-trekking author has lived and worked in the Amazon Jungle, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Tijuana, Reno, Long Beach, and Los Angeles. He is fluent in English, French, and several dialects of Spanish, and he holds two degrees from the University of California: one in Global Socio-Economics, and the other in Latin American & Iberian Studies.

Currently, he works as an author in Los Angeles, California. He has been hailed by critics and fans for his distillation of personally-experienced world philosophies, cultures, and esoteric mysteries into simple, yet profoundly life-affirming works for the everyday person. And he can also be seen in Los Angeles making public appearances and talks as an advocate for LGBT rights, especially LGBT Youth.
