Fanfares and Flourishes
The Lone Star Wind Orchestra opens with a celebration for the Dallas Arts District and the opening of the new Dallas City Performance Hall. The music will be celebratory and fill the new hall with energy and excitement, works that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The LSWO will make history as the first wind band to perform in the new hall. The program features Respighi's Pines of Rome, Ticheli's Sanctuary, and Copland's famous Fanfare for the Common Man. Also, Joan Tower's Fanfare for the Uncommon Women No. 1, Michael Gandolfi's Flourishes and Meditations on a Renaissance Theme, and celebrating Vaughan-Williams birthdate with Variations for Wind Band.
